When I first started in my green beauty journey rose water was one of the first products I discovered. Everyone was talking about it, but what I couldn’t figure out was what I was actually supposed to do with it. Over the years i’ve discovered my favorite uses for rose water. I’ve also learned that this is one of the natural skincare products you should definitely try to buy organic. Some brands include synthetic additives like preservatives and fragrance that are toxic and take away from the many benefits of rose water. Organic Rose Water is definitely the way to go if you’re thinking about adding it into your green beauty skincare routine.Currently I’ve been using the CocoKind Organic Rosewater Facial Toner and I love it!
MY FAVORITE USES FOR ORGANIC ROSE WATER
- Makeup Setting Spray: If you have oily skin like I do you usually try to stay away from any hydrating mist after makeup application out of the fear that it will reverse all the mattifying you’ve done prior. However, organic rose water is gentle and slightly hydrating making it great for a variety of skin types. I like to use this as a setting spray to help me achieve a more natural look after applying heavy powder. I also sometimes use rose water to dampen my eye shadow brush for a more intense shadow. (great if you’re working with pigments)
- Toner: Rosewater is a great toner. Its ultra hydrating and great for acne prone skin. I love how hydrating it feels after I use a deep cleaning cleanser. Rose Water is also great for treating aging or blemished skin because it softens and treats dark spots.
- Hair Hydrating Spritz: I love when my shampoo and conditioner contains rose water, but I also love applying it after I’m done washing my hair. A few sprays then I let it air dry and i’m left with less tangles, softness, and shine. This is a great trick for color treated hair.
