Minimalism, a growing moment of streamlining and figuring out what’s truly important. To be totally honest, I haven’t created an official capsule wardrobe. I’m still in the process of planning how i’ll format it this summer, but i’m a first timer so it’s going to take me some time. One of the hardest things for me is accessories. I love a good interest piece paired with a simple outfit so it’s easy to find myself hoarding accessories. I like to have new eye catching pieces on a monthly basis so I never get bored with my minimal style. Having recently moved to Los Angeles, I’ve realized that here shades, sunnies, sunglasses..whatever you want to call them are a pretty big deal. It is the sunshine state after all.
A great way to keep things interesting and current is to try out a subscription service. Ditto is a designer eyewear subscription service that allows you to rent and switch out a new pair of sunglasses or prescription glasses every month. They carry luxury designers like Givenchy, Miu Miu, and my personal favorite Stella McCartney. I love this service because it allows you to change things up constantly without the commitment of having a bunch of styles that you may grow tired of. Also, should you decide that you love the pair and do not want to part with it, you don’t have to. You can always just purchase it and add it to your wardrobe. This is a great way to experiment with styles, designers, and shades to find your signature style. It can take years to find a shade you truly love that flatters your face shape.
This month I’ve been wearing the Lucia Shade from Retro Super Future. This pair retails for $269, but Ditto allows you to rent them for $24 a month. I usually go for a classic black wayfarer style so this was a great way for me to switch it up with month. It also helped me discover that I love playing with patterns and different shapes.
